fostering consent culture in san francisco’s nightlife
the night’s watch is a peer-based initiative dedicated to preventing sexual violence in nightlife and at music festivals in the san francisco bay area.
we’re building a nightlife network with infrastructure that fosters a safe and supportive environment for staff, patrons, and the community at large to have transcendent experiences.
we are grateful to kindred programs that have shared their resources and given us the tools to spread our shared ethos at a local level. please check out our allies page to see our inspirations.

whether you’re a first timer or already have some harm reduction infrastructure in place, we’ll meet you wherever you’re at. our intake form will ask you what you’re interested in so that we can customize our discussion accordingly
-
what does sexual violence look like in nightlife? what can you do as an institution to address and prevent it? how might you navigate a disclosure? what can you do as an institution to make your patrons feel safe & support survivors? what does consent culture look, sound and feel like?
we’ll examine questions of this nature in a facilitated discussion where you’ll gain an understanding of how to reduce harm in the moment and build community capacity to challenge a culture that has normalized sexual violence through modeling behavior that shows an alternative.
we encourage you to bring your lived experiences to this discussion
-
all participants receive collateral that indicates they are a member of the night’s watch (posters, social media kit, web badges, banner, copy)
we’ll spend a night out with you & your team every six months to make sure you feel supported with our program.
the night’s watch membership is valid for 18 months. we encourage you to renew your membership every 18 months to account for staff turnover and evolving best practices
